MSC Cruises sails throughout the year in the Mediterranean cruise & offers a wide range of seasonal itineraries in Northern Europe, the Canary Islands, the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean & the Antilles, South America, the Indian Ocean, South & West Africa. The 12 ships comprising its ultra-modern fleet will carry over 1.4 million guests in 2012 & this number is expected to each over 1.5 million in 2013. MSC Cruises is a privately owned European company, employing 15,500 staff around the world & present in 45 countries.
MSC Cruises' state-of-the-art fleet is the result of 6 billion euro investment programme started in 2003. Since May 2012, with the addition of Fantasia flagship MSC Divina, the fleet comprises 12 ships. The three Fantasia flagships MSC Divina (2012), MSC Splendida (2009) & MSC Fantasia (2008) - are MSC Cruises largest vessels, each weighing approximately 140,000 tons, measuring 333m in length & 38m in width. MSC Splendida & MSC Fantasia both accommodate 4,363 guests each, while MSC Divina accommodates 4,345 guests. Complementing them are the four vessels in the Musica Class MSC Magnifica (2010), MSC Poesia (2008), MSC Orchestra (2007) & MSC Musica (2006) - each weighing 90,000 tons & carrying 3,000 guests. The fleet is completed by the four liners of the Lirica Class, with a grt of 60,000 tons & a capacity of 2,000 guests each - MSC Sinfonia (2005), MSC Armonia (2004), MSC Opera (2004) & MSC Lirica (2003) - & finally MSC Melody, weighing 35,000 grt & carrying 1,000 guests. The fleet will increase in size in 2013 with the addition of final Fantasia flagship MSC Preziosa.
